Within the Whole Brain Catalog there are a variety of ways to navigate and explore data or regions of interest.

[edit] Toolbar Navigation
The toolbar is located towards the top of the environment window.
[edit] Using Toolbar to Enter Edit Mode
After entering select mode you can enter edit mode in order to change objects in the environment.

[edit] Buttons
There is a context sensitive control button located in the top right of the environment window, which will appear when you roll over it with your mouse. Depending on what control mode you are in this will change.

[edit] Probe Navigation
To view the probe, click the View menu and select View Probe.
The probe will show up where you are located and you can use the mini-maps to help navigate your location. You can select and move the probe by entering select mode and then edit mode. You can rotate around the probe by right-clicking and dragging.
The probe can also be used to find gene expression data and other spatial queries.
[edit] My Places
My Places is located on the left hand side of the Whole Brain Catalog window. You can double click on any object in the list to then zoom to that object or place within the brain.
To create a new bookmark, click the toolbar button
and name your new place as desired.
[edit] Zoom
In the environment you can right click on objects to bring up a context menu and select zoom to, but there are also a variety of different ways you can zoom into areas of interest.

[edit] Mini-maps
The mini-maps allow you to orient yourself and see where you are located in the 3 dimensions of the brain. You can bring up the mini-maps under the View menu.
